Variety of Wedding Guest Books

Thursday, September 21st, 2006

Long after the wedding is over, the cake has been eaten, and the honeymoon is a distant memory, you will still have your wedding guest books as mementos of your special day. Many couples have more than one, but they come in different types. There is the traditional book that the guests sign when they come for the ceremony, and some choose to have a second type at the reception. This is more common for those who have smaller ceremonies, and then invite more friends and family for the reception only.

The most common type of wedding guest books can come in an array of colors, but the most common color is white. These are displayed with a pen, and guests sign their names, and sometimes add their addresses. These can be personalized with the name of the bride and groom on the front, along with the date and place of the ceremony.

The second kind of wedding guest books aren’t really books at all, but they serve the very same purpose. They are a reminder of everyone who shared your special day with you. This kind, however, can be more personal. A friend of mine had this at her wedding, but she didn’t know about it until the reception. Her maid of honor choose a large scrapbook, and placed pictures of the bride and groom from various times in their relationship on the front and on some of the pages. Guests could then sign the book, and leave a message. She had great fun reading what each guest had to say, and it was a great reminder of everyone who came, many of whom she doesn’t get to see very often.

This can also be accomplished with a large poster board and a photo of the couple. Space is limited, but guests can write a message on the poster board, or simply sign their names. You won’t find this in many places that sell wedding guest books, but a few companies have started offering pre-made versions for couples to use at their reception. If you like the idea of convenience you can buy one of these, or to save money, it might be fun to make your own.

As with most things, wedding guest books can be found in many places. If you can’t find what you are looking for locally, go ahead and search online. You may be surprised at the variety available, and some of the special touches that can be added. While you are shopping, don’t forget to get a quality pen to go with your book.

Beach Vacation Rentals for Summer

Tuesday, June 20th, 2006

All of us want to look great in our bathing suits. When summer hits, we strive for that tone body and tan. at the beach. Although a weekend of fun in the sun can be a relaxing experience, many of us prefer a longer stay. Those crashing waves and warm sand are hard to turn away from. The sun calls to us whether we like it or not. Luckily there are options other than the standard hotel room. Beach vacation rentals are an ideal place to spend your summer.

If you’ve ever took that family vacation to the coast, you probably have memories of a basic hotel room, which if you’re lucky, was ocean front. You stared out at the serene waterfront from your balcony. It was an experience that probably lasted for a couple days. This is likely due to funding. You may have the vacation time, but the hotel rooms can get pricey. With beach vacation rentals, you can plan your entire summer at the beach. It’s actually like having a home away from home. No more renting a hotel room far in advance to ensure you’re close to the shore. Check into beach vacation rentals for a more reasonable stay.

The Internet provides us with a wide selection of websites, which offer many great deals on beach vacation rentals. No matter what your price range is, you can certainly find something that’s right for you. Surf the packages and locate that ideal place to lodge. It beats finding that last minute hotel room. You can reserve beach vacation rentals in advance so you know it’s waiting for you when the sun creeps out and the temperature rises.

When I was a kid, we always took that family vacation to the beach. I recall one summer when I met a couple of kids while roaming the shops. They were dark tan and certainly seemed in their element. After getting to know them a little, I discovered that they had been staying there for weeks. I was a little baffled by this, especially when they claimed that they didn’t live there. It turned out they were there for the entire summer and living in a beach vacation rental. Wow, I was jealous. Why didn’t my parents ever consider this? We sure liked coming to the beach, and always wanted to stay longer. Beach vacation rentals were the answer to our problem. These days with the Internet on your side, there’s no reason why you can’t enjoy a fun, and affordable summer at the beach.

They name it differently elsewhere. In parts of Asia, beach vacation rentals are known as chalet or resorts. So, you might wish to take note of this while looking for your ideal beach vacation.

Best Honeymoon Destination on Planet

Wednesday, June 7th, 2006

While it’s of course a matter of opinion, I think the best honeymoon destination on the planet would be Maui. I’m certainly not the only one that feels Maui is the best honeymoon destination, as that is a popular reason for people to go there and a big part of its tourism advertising is focused on newly weds or young couples.

The best honeymoon destination is someplace you can relax and enjoy each others company without having to race around and sight see all day. Going to some historically rich foreign country may seem romantic, but it’ll be hard to justify laying around together in your hotel room when there are so many world renown sights to see within just a few miles that you may never have a chance to see again. That’s why I think Maui is the best honeymoon destination.

Not that there isn’t anything to see in Maui; quite the contrary, Maui is filled with its own fascinating sights and culture as well. However, the sights to see in Maui are the sights of the island itself. Just hanging out on a beach together would be the equivalent to sight seeing, as you’re on one of the finest and most gorgeous beaches on the planet.

When you need to take a break from lying around, there are some really amazing little Hawaiian towns to explore, and some mind blowing natural scenes to drive to. None of this will feel like the kind of fast paced and rushed sight seeing you’d do in another country. Even in Hawaii is in fact another country for you, it doesn’t really matter if you go to Maui as it is in no way a historical representation of the United States. Maui still looks and feels a lot like it probably did even before it was part of the U.S, and it is this romantic appeal mixed with its relaxed nature that makes it the best honeymoon destination.

The more popular island of Oahu will definitely be more traditionally touristy, with plenty of sights to race around to and a big city to visit. Oahu can be gotten to in just a couple hours from Maui, so you can easily do both if you can’t decide. Personally, if I can turn time back to before my wedding, for my honeymoon, I think I’d rather spend the whole time on Maui. Just the right mix of things to do, amazing and exotic sights to see, and excuses to lay around and relax, Maui is definitely the best honeymoon destination on the planet in my book.

If you are presently looking for honeymoon destination, take my advice, go to Maui. It’s romantic in it’s own sense.

Short Honeymoon at Florida Beach Resorts?

Friday, June 2nd, 2006

Florida beach resorts can be a perfect location for a fun and surprisingly affordable vacation. Every year I go to Florida beach resorts, I am surprised at the quality of the experience I have there. I’ve never been much of a fan of Florida until recently. It is hot and muggy, inescapably so, with sudden downpours in the afternoon which leave you feeling drenched and feverish. Nevertheless, staying in a Florida beach resort, I quickly changed my tune. It was so pleasant to have a nice cool air conditioned room, only minutes from the sultry heat of the beach that I just couldn’t help enjoying the whole experience. And on top of it all, there was a jacuzzi downstairs where I could stay until late, just soaking my troubles away. Now that is luxury.

Of course, every one of the Florida beach resorts is different, and your experience won’t necessarily be just like mine. It is important to know what you are looking for in your vacation before you just run out and rent beach front property. Some people prefer a smaller beach resort, or one more isolated, because they find the crowds and the imposing buildings to be somewhat alienating, and really crave solitude. I, however, much prefer to go to the biggest Florida beach resorts possible. I love the glamor of it, and I’ve always felt that the bigger the business, the higher the quality of service they can provide for me. This is certainly true in my beach resort every morning a delicious breakfast, either eggs and bacon and pancakes or continental as you prefer. Every evening, the most lavishly stuffed buffet table which you’ve ever seen. Why, it could bring you back from the edge of starvation to a healthy round physiognomy inside of a week, easy.

One of my friends went to Florida beach resorts for her honeymoon due to their busy schedule. She came back describing to anyone who would listen about the great beach, great room, great staff and of course great food!
