Wavy Hair with ghds

Gently waved hair is a great look for summer. Adding a feminine delicacy to your look whilst appearing effortless and natural, wavy hair is a great style for any occasion; whether it’s a casual garden party, a barbeque on the beach, a picnic in the park or a more special occasion like a dinner party or a wedding.
Even if your hair is generally heavy and straight or tightly curled, with a good quality pair of straighteners like ghds you can easily create soft waves. Straighteners from ghd are also designed to protect your hair from heat damage, locking in moisture with their advanced ceramic heating irons.

When preparing to heat style your hair, using products when washing is a good base. A variety of shampoos and conditioners are designed especially to prepare hair for straightening or curling. The ghd style range filters products by the hair styles they will help create, and can be found online at www.ghdhair.com. Choose a product appropriate to the style you wish to create, or to your particular hair type; thick, dry, soft, etc. There are loads to choose from.
Before beginning to style your hair with straighteners, make sure that it is fully dry. Brush it out gently to remove any tangles or knots, then separate into layers, clipping all but the bottom layer on top of your head. Then split the bottom layer into sections, an inch or so wide. Place the straighteners around a section, close to the roots, and draw gently downwards. Think about how far apart you want your waves; after you have straightened your hair that amount, flip the straighteners to the side and continue. Repeat until you reach the tips of your hair, then start on the next section. When the bottom layer is done, release another layer and so on until you have added gentle waves to your whole hair.

Wedding Etiquette, Wedding Planning

wedding planning

When you’re planning a wedding, you’re probably going to be concerning yourself with wedding etiquette as well.  This will especially hold true if you’re planning a formal—or traditional—wedding ceremony, which is still, today, what most brides [and even many grooms] want and have always dreamed of.

So what is wedding etiquette, exactly, and what does it have to do with your wedding planning?  Is it any surprise the word, “etiquette” is French in origin, and it means the customary code of polite behavior in society or a particular group.  Simply put, wedding etiquette covers what is customary to do, what not to do…how things are [or have been] done, customarily, why and by whom.  Wedding etiquette fits into your wedding planning in that it tells you who is supposed to do what, and in what way. Much can be found about all the particular details of wedding etiquette, which should guide you in your wedding planning.

Planning a wedding is indeed a big—sometimes huge—ordeal, and it should be handled together, as a couple.  This is not to say you can’t get help from others, but the bride and the groom should be united in decision making, being courteous and cooperative.  This goes for how you deal with professional service providers like caterers, florists, photographers, etc.  How well you two work together is somewhat indicative of how well you will handle other important decisions, together, later in life.

Some good advice to follow in your wedding planning is to follow the “three C’s”: Consideration, Communication, and Compromise.  Stay calm; delegate what you can.  Also, remember to take care of your health, getting plenty of sleep, eating healthily, and exercising to replenish.  And remember to keep family members abreast of your planning—be sensitive to family members who might feel like they’re “losing you.”  Strive to promote peace in your families, and be proactive instead of reactive.  In truth, much of wedding etiquette is about thoughtfulness of others and their feelings.

If you keep these things in mind during your wedding planning, you will have honored the very spirit of wedding etiquette.

Wedding Planning

wedding planning

Planning your wedding may seem overwhelming. But with a very basic checklist you can accomplish some of the biggest goals and set your planning in motion.

First, decide on a budget.
This step is crucial. You need to realistically think about what you can afford to spend and then go from there. You cannot reasonably begin looking for locations or vendors without knowing the price you’re able to spend on them.

Make a guest list
You need to make a very rough sketch of a guest list. This will also help in all your further planning. You aren’t going to hold an intimate garden wedding with over 500 guests! And many venues have a “max” they allow in their rooms. Knowing a rough number will help you weed through various locations to find the perfect one.

Date and Location
Some brides have a specific date already planned and will be looking for a venue that has availability.

Others know where they want to hold their wedding, and are willing to pick a date within a certain range that the location has available. No matter which you are, these two pretty much go hand in hand. Either have a specific date, or a date-range in mind and begin scouting venues. Pay attention to price and packages, as well as location and setting. Make sure the venue is going to reflect your taste. Also, remember that having an “off-season” wedding or a Sunday may save you a lot of money when booking your venue.

Color and Theme
Deciding on the color and feel of your wedding will set the tone for the rest of the planning and details. Make sure to pay attention to what flowers will be available during your season. You don’t want your heart set on a certain color only to find out it’s impossible to find flowers of that color during your season.

(Unless of course, you go with candles instead of floral. Which can be a fantastic way to save!) After setting the overall theme of your wedding, the little details will fall easily into place.

Vendors
You will need a variety of hired professionals for your big day. A DJ or band (or maybe both!), florist, hair+make-up, caterer, officiant, your venue, a wedding planner, cake designer, limo/transportation, etc. Make sure when booking with vendors you get a written contract with any specifics that you’ve agreed on. Don’t take anyone’s word on anything. All of these professionals are going to come together to make your big day what it is!

Diy Wedding Planning ? Where To Start?

wedding planning

So the countdown has become a reality, he finally proposed and you’ve even reached mutual agreement about the date. Where do you go from here? Well if you have the luxury of time, this will make your wedding planning infinitely easier. Why? Because you have the benefit of booking in advance, wedding dress sales and oodles of time to get in trim if needs be, and you’ll feel less hurried as your plans begin to take shape.

Wedding planning is an art-form, there’s no doubt about it. Or else why would so many have undertaken the management monotony of other people’s weddings, and made a successful career out of it to boot? The trouble most couples have is in laying down the basics after the church or registry office. Where to have the reception? What kind of catering will be best for our guests? Should we incorporate a theme?

Nailing The Basics

If you’re anything like the majority of modern couples, you’ll probably have set yourself at least twelve months for effectual planning and budgeting prior to the big day, however there are some who simply cannot wait to tie the knot. In either case, booking of the ceremonial location is vital as early as possible, to set your date in stone. After all, you can’t send out those invites until you have somewhere to invite your guests to!

If you’re opting for a church or religious wedding, there are certain stipulations put in place when it comes to the right to marry within formal places of worship. It doesn’t matter what your domination, faith or background – you’ll find that every place of worship requires a certain number of attendances, contributions or payments in order to secure the date. The question is whether you are prepared to attend a number of services, aside from those where the “bands” are read out, in order to demonstrate your acceptance of the faith, by which you’ll be married. Of course a registry office, commitment or outdoor ceremony won’t require any of this, all you need are witnesses.

Compiling THE List

Now you have the venue booked, it’s time to get down to the nitty gritty of your wedding planning – decide who you’re going to invite. Excitement tends to influence the mutual agreements between couples over budgets and guests, well before the formal planning begins. You may even have joked about who you’ll definitely have to sit at the bottom table in order to avoid familial conflicts!

Consider your invitees carefully, and be realistic about who you can afford to invite. While you may want half of your departmental team to witness your big day, budgets don’t always allow for such eventualities. Aside from being a preparatory move for sending out invites, the guest list will also come in handy when it comes to booking the reception or wedding party venue.

Barter Over Budget

The budget is the one controversial aspect of wedding planning that almost always causes disagreement between couples. Stereotypically, the bride is the less practical when it comes to budget, allegedly of the inclination that no expense should be spared, while the groom is supposedly the one who puts his foot down. While you may not agree at first, compromise will ensure that there are both practical and fair allocations of the budget to every aspect of your big day – from the bar tab, to the bouquets!

Confirm The Reception Venue

You’ve no doubt already been casting your pre-wedding planning eye over the reception venues local, and affordable to you, but without the confirmation of a budget, you could find that you have to cut back on other essentials at a later date if you don’t compare prices. Sure that nice Georgian mansion has enough gilding and gold-leaf to make your photos look like they belong in O.K, but is it affordably practical?
